Through translations and reinterpretations of a number of iconic Israeli songs to English, THE CALLING portrays a current face of Israel to the world. 

The project hopes to connect the world to Israel by eliminating the barrier of language; and to change global public opinion about Israel through sharing its musical culture in a form the Western world can easily digest and appreciate.

The lineup of translations portray a rich spectrum of artists and genres, from pop to rock to Mizrachi (Eastern) to ballads.

"While living in Australia I found that language served as a hurdle preventing English speakers from listening to, or appreciating Israeli music. Today, knowledge of the Hebrew language has enabled me to discover the richness, meaning, warmth and inspirational quality of Israeli culture. A desire to share this richness with those who do not know the language led to the initiation of the project." (Savannah Zwi)
